The downside is that there is no modwheel dynamic control and no legato (hence the "companion" name maybe?). Sonivox is great too, the companion strings work really well in the background layered with other strings. It has a more vintage / retro strings feel to it I think. Concert Strings 3 is heavier on the CPU but it sounds very nice too. But with a good reverb and combining multiple ensemble sizes, Concert Strings is awesome.
IK MULTIMEDIA MIROSLAV PHILHARMONIK 2 CE SERIES
The downside is that a series like Originals will be more rewarding and realistic right off the bat as there's more room sound and different mic positions. I really love Concert Strings 2 for the flexibility, the sound works really well with pop music and is very flexible. Some of the articulations may not as flexible as other libraries but the sound is beautiful in my opinion (especially the strings when playing quietly).
IK MULTIMEDIA MIROSLAV PHILHARMONIK 2 CE FULL
Miroslav is a full orchestra indeed, even the CE version's got quite a lot of stuff! I really like the sound of it. I don’t even want to count up how much I’ve spent on the same thing over and over again. We buy vinyl, then the 8-track of the same album, then the cassette version of it, then the CD then another CD because we either lost or scratched the first one ☝ then the compressed mp3 of that album then the aac version of that album, then it all doesn’t matter if you pay for the stream in Apple Music. If Eddie Van Halen did not come out with Jump and I’ll Wait maybe none of these purchases ever even happen.Ĭompanies have a way of selling all of us the same stuff over and over again. I used to own an OB-8 back in the ‘80s which I got retrofitted with MIDI. How many developers have the OB-8 in a soft synth, too many, and I own them all even though they all sound similar and good. I bought the Albions, then they come out with Originals, then they come out with the SSO, then SStO, then SCS, and I buy and buy and buy, but it’s all dancing around almost the same thing while slightly dressed up in new clothes for the Emperor.
